It cannot be right that we say we live in a civilised society and yet we will turn our backs on a women trafficked into this country against her will who has been through the most appalling treatment at the hands of her traffickers, and now the British Government, despite acknowledging that she has been a victim deny her the funds to help her to recover. Remember people, these women are brought here because there captors can make a lot of money from their servitude.  To every woman out there who reads this, and to men who care too, we would ask, can you help? Here’s what our founder at Invisible Traffick had to say about what happened the other day.

‘Tonight my heart is breaking as we had to say no to a referral due to the woman not being eligible to public funds. She has a positive grounds decision to say she has been trafficked in the sex industry and has had to leave the safe house and go to a asylum house. Today she found out that she will not get indefinite leave to remain in the UK and will be sent back to her country of origin. She was so desperate that she attempted suicide rather than go back into the hands of those who trafficked her. The government need to get a grip on this and fund us or let them stay. I am so frustrated. This is what it’s all about ladies…..this is a fight and we must keep fighting by raising awareness and showing the high up decision makers that they’ve got it wrong. We need £200 per week per woman to live in Tamar. How much is a human life worth. If this were cats dogs or donkeys the money would be rolling in. I do like animals before I offend anyone. Please pray for this lady and please pray we get more funding soon so that we don’t have to rely on housing benefit.’

There are many ways you can help us but if you would like to make a donation to towards the work that we do, please do this via our new gofundme page.
